Q1 May I use my laptop in classrooms?

Yes, you may use your laptop in B302, C208, C403, D301, D408, E301, and E304. Please note that audio extension cables are only available in D301, D408, E301 and E304.

Q2 How can I use my laptop in classroom?

You will be able to use an external laptop in the following classrooms, B302, C208, C403, D301, D408, E301, and E304.

  1. - For Classrooms D301, D408, E301 and E304, please follow the below instructions.
    1. Press “” on the remote control to power on the projector.
    2. Press “Laptop” button on the KVM Switch.
    3. Connect the audio extension cable to your laptop audio output connector (with headphone icon).
    4. Connect the video extension cable to you laptop VGA connector.
    5. Power on your laptop.
    6. Adjust the volume from the amplifier.
    7. The projection screen shall display the same images as your laptop now. If NOT, please configure your laptop display resolution to 1024*768 and restart your laptop.
    8. When the class finishes, please disconnect the audio and video extension cable from your laptop and switch back to “PC” mode by pressing “PC” button on the KVM Switch.
  2. - For Classroom B302, please follow the below instructions to set up your laptop.
    1. Press “” on the remote control to power on the projector.
    2. Press “Comp 1”(laptop) button on the remote control.
    3. Connect the video extension cable to you laptop VGA connector.
    4. Power on your laptop.
    5. The projection screen shall display the same images as your laptop now. If NOT, please configure your laptop display resolution to 1024*768 and restart your laptop.
    6. When the class finishes, please disconnect the video extension cable from your laptop and switch back to “PC” mode by pressing “Comp2” button on the remote control.

* Please note that there is no audio extension cable available in B302.

  1. - For Classroom C208, C403, please follow the below instructions to set up your laptop.
    1. Press “” on the remote control to power on the projector.
    2. Press “Laptop” button on the KVM Switch.
    3. Connect the video extension cable to you laptop VGA connector.
    4. Power on your laptop.
    5. The projection screen shall display the same images as your laptop now. If NOT, please configure your laptop display resolution to 1024*768 and restart your laptop.
    6. When the class finishes, please disconnect the video extension cable from your laptop and switch back to “PC” mode by pressing “PC” button on the KVM Switch.

* Please note that there is no audio extension cable available in C208 and C403.

Troubleshooting Tips

Problems

Remedy

No projected images

1. Check if the video cable is securely connected to your laptop;

2. Configure the laptop display resolution to 1024 by 768;

3. Restart the laptop;

No sound from the amplifier

1. Check if the audio cable is securely connected to the laptop Audio connector;

2. Adjust the volume from the Amplifier so that sound can be heard;

3. Check if the Mute function is enabled in the laptop; if yes please disable it.
