An e-mail service is the major communication link between campus and student. It is one of the channels for the campus to broadcast any important message or notice to the students. Students need to check their mail box regularly to read the information from the campus promptly.
Each UIC student will be assigned an email account. The email address format is as follows:

• This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (for 2005 student)
• This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (for 2006 student)
• This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (for 2007 student)
• This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (for 2008 student)
• This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (for 2009 student)

1. Access the UIC web mail system via entering the URL address: http://webmail.uic.edu.hk/ or from the UIC home page (http://uic.edu.hk) click the "Login" button from the navigation bar menu and select "Student" then "email".
2. User ID is ‘c7xxxxxxxx', where xxxxxxxx is the student ID number.
3. Default password is the student National ID, HKID or Macau ID number.

Student can change the email account settings such as password, language, signature,etc. when successfully login the system.

Due to the email server storage space constraint, each student receives a default email quota of 100 megabytes. Please be reminded that any unwanted mail in the mail box needs to be cleaned up regularly to avoid overflow problem which means important message may be missed.

We would also like to advice the students not to open any message from unknown sourses. It can be malicious and contain virus.

邮箱账号

电子邮件是校园内主要的通讯工具和信息共享平台,是学校向同学们宣布重要消息或通告的主要方式。学生需要定期查阅邮箱，及时接收学校的信息。
ITSC为每个在校学生分派一个电子邮箱账号，格式为：

• This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (2007届学生)
• This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (2008届学生)
• This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (2009届学生)

1. 键入http://webmail.uic.edu.hk/或在UIC主页(http://uic.edu.hk）里的导航栏上点击"登录"按钮，选择"学生"－"邮箱"。
2. 用户账号是‘c7xxxxxxx'，其中‘xxxxxxx'是学号。
3. 密码是身份证号或护照号。

成功登录后，可以更改邮箱的初始设置，例如密码，界面语言、添加个性签名等。

由于邮件服务器的容量有限，每个学生的邮箱容量为100M,为了避免邮箱容量满载而无法接收或发送邮件，请定期清理邮箱。

我们建议用户不要打开来源不明的邮件，因为那些邮件很可能是病毒或恶意邮件。
