Wi-Fi service is available in UIC campus. Students and staff can apply a wifi account via UIC portal. For special request, a temporary account will be provided. All UIC’s Wi-Fi accounts will be terminated at the end of every August. Students and staff need to re-apply account then.

1. Apply an Account (For Student & Staff)

1.1 Log in UIC Portal

Enter the link http://mis.uic.edu.hk/ or login Portal via UIC website (http://www.uic.edu.hk).

1.2 Enter you user name (i.e. Student: c712345678) and password to log in.

1.3 Click the icon ITSC Online Services.

1.4 Click “Apply Now!”.

1.5 A “Successful” message pops up if you have successfully applied.

Notes:

1. To avoid account abuse, one student account can only be used in one wireless device. If there is change in the hardware device, please contact ITSC in advance for updating the hardware information, otherwise users will not be able to connect the network.

2. Wifi account application and balance status (only applied to student account) can be accessed via ITSC Online Services. For transaction history, please visit http://192.168.110.215/selfservice.

3. All UIC’s Wi-Fi accounts will be terminated at the end of every August. Students and staff need to reapply then.

2. Apply a Temporary Account (For Special Event/Guest)

2.1 Activity or Event

If there are any campus activities or events that require wireless access, it is recommended to use a Staff account to access the wireless network (please refer to the staff account application to apply one). If another account is needed, please contact ITSC to apply a temporary account.

2.2 Visitor or Guest

For the visitors or guests, please go to ITSC for registration accompanied by relevant division or unit. The visitors' valid ID and network access period are required during registration. All visitors and guests should comply with the Campus Wireless Local Area Network.

A temporary account will be terminated automatically on the expiry date.

3. Access UIC WiFi

3.1 Use system-provided network connection tool to connect to Wi-Fi@UIC.

(Note: The above example is for Windows 7 users. For MAC, Linux and other mobile device users, please use the system provided network connection tool to connect to Wi-Fi@UIC.

3.2 Open an internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox) and you will find a web authentication screen as follow. Enter your user name and password to login.

Notes:

1. Make sure the wireless network card is enabled. Search SSID:Wi-Fi@UIC and click connect.

2. Please use Web Portal Mode for authentication.

目前UIC无线网络已逐步覆盖校园。学校学生和教职员只要通过UIC统一登录系统（UIC Portal）开通无线网络服务即可使用无线网络服务。另外，如有特殊需求，可向ITSC申请临时账号。每年8月底，学校无线网络账号将被取消，学生和教职员需重新开通。

1．学生、教职员无线网络账户开通

1.1. 首先登录学校的Portal。在浏览器地址栏中输入http://mis.uic.edu.hk/ 或者通过学校主页登录。

1.2. 在Portal中，输入自己的统一登录帐户和密码（和登录学校邮箱方式一样），点击“Login”按钮。

1.3. 登录成功后，在首页点击“ITSC Online Services”。

1.4. 点击“Apply Now！”按钮。

1.5. 显示如下信息，表示成功开通Wi-Fi帐户。帐户名和密码为自己的统一登录帐户和密码（同邮箱）。

注意事项：

1. 为防止账户滥用，一个学生账户只能绑定一台无线设备，更换设备请提前知会ITSC更新绑定信息，否则将无法使用无线网络。

2. 目前ITSC Online Services仅提供无线网络服务开通和余额查询的服务。查询帐务及上网明细请登录http://192.168.110.215/selfservice 。

3. 每年9月份，学校无线网络账号将被取消，学生和教职员需重新开通。

2. 临时账号申请（校内事务活动/访客）

2.1校内事务活动

校内各行政及教学部门活动需要使用无线网络，建议使用个人账号（如未曾开通，请参考教职员无线网络账户开通）。如需额外账号请下载并填写申请表格，自行到ITSC申请临时账号。

2.2 访客

访客及临时使用无线网络的客人请在接待人员的陪同下到ITSC进行登记开通临时账号。登记时请出示有效证件，确定使用无线的时段。使用期间同样需遵守《无线管理规定》的相关条款。

访客经ITSC审批获取的无线上网帐号在到达使用截至时段后账号会自动失效。

3．UIC校园无线网络使用说明

3.1 请使用自带的无线网络连接管理器连接至Wi-Fi@UIC。

（注：此处以windows 7系统为例进行设置说明，MAC系统、Linux系统及其他移动终端请使用自带的无线网络连接管理连接无线网络。）

3.2 打开浏览器，将出现类似以下的页面。输入你的账号和密码，然后点击“login”。

注意事项：

1. 确认无线网卡已经打开。在无线网络列表中可以搜索到Wi-Fi@UIC这个信号后，手动连接。

2. 默认使用网络认证方式。
