Application for UIC Campus Wireless Network Access

Presently UIC has already implemented unified authentication for all campus online systems. Users can use their email ID and password to access the system in campus. Due to the wireless network management requirement, an account application is required for using the wireless network. The accounts need to be reapproved in each new academic year.

1. Application for Staff's Wireless Network Account:
   1. UIC staff needs to apply the wireless network account via ITSC.
   2. To avoid abused in accessing account, one user account can only be used in one wireless device. If there is any change in the hardware device, please contact ITSC in advance for updating the hardware information, otherwise users will not be able to connect the network.
   3. 802.1X authentication protocol is required. The SSID for connection is Wi-Fi@UIC.
   4. If users require to use Web Portal authentication mode to connect to SSID: Wi-Fi (web)@UIC. An application is required, please contact ITSC for details.
2. Application for visitor or guest Wireless Network Account:
   1. Our wireless network also opens to UIC visitors or guest guests. For the visitors or guests, please go to ITSC for registration accompanied by relevant division or unit. The visitors' valid ID and network access period are also required during registration. All visitors and guests should comply with the "wireless management rules and regulations"
   2. Visitors are required to use the Web Portal mode for authentication. The connecting SSID is Wi-Fi (web)@UIC.
   3. An access limit is applied to the visitors or guests accounts. The accounts will be terminated automatically on the expiry date.
   4. A temporary account ID will be provided to visitors or guests for network access.
3. Application for campus activities Wireless Network Account.
   1. If there are any campus activities or events that require wireless access, the organizers should contact ITSC for applying a temporary wireless network access account.

UIC无线网络开通申请

目前全校各种应用系统的账户，密码都统一使用UIC邮箱账户和密码进行认证。无线网络接入认证同样使用邮箱账户和密码，但为了管理需要，用户需要申请开通才能使用，并且每年九月需要重新审批。

一．教职员无线网络账户开通申请：

1. 本校教职员须到ITSC办理无线网络开通申请。
2. 为防止账户滥用，一个邮箱账户只能绑定一台无线设备，更换设备须提前通知ITSC更新绑定信息，否则将无法使用无线网络。
3. 规定教职员使用的SSID是Wi－Fi@UIC ，需要用户使用802.1X认证接入。
4. 个别需要使用Web Portal方式接入，即使用的SSID是Wi－Fi（web）@UIC，需要特别申请。

二．访客无线网络账户开通申请：

1. 访客及临时使用无线网络的客人请在接待人员的陪同下到ITSC进行登记开通。登记时请出示有效证件，确定使用无线的时段。使用期间同样需遵守《无线管理规定》的相关条款。
2. 访客请使用Web Portal方式接入，即使用的SSID是Wi－Fi（web）@UIC 。
3. 访客经ITSC审批获取的无线上网帐号具有实效性。在到达使用截至时段后账号会自动失效。
4. 因访客没有学校系统帐号，ITSC只提供临时的账户供无线上网使用。

三．校内事务活动无线网络账户开通申请：

校内各行政及教学部门活动需要使用无线网络支持的，请自行到ITSC申请临时账号。
